Job Description:

As GAF's Social Media Specialist, you will be responsible for guiding our social media strategy and overseeing execution. Partnering with both in-house and external agencies, you will have the opportunity to create social-first content that connects with key audiences and delivers community growth, engagement and social share of voice. You will also collaborate with stakeholders across departments to identify opportunities to support and amplify GAF's communications, CSR, employer brand and marketing activities through social media.

Essential Job Duties:

Social Media Content and Calendar (50%)

  • Guide and execute GAF's social media strategy, applying insights from current/past performance, social listening, audience research and benchmarking to continuously improve content quality and performance

  • Manage the rolling, monthly social media planning process with stakeholders across departments (i.e., Brand, Digital Marketing, Events, Communications and others) in order to publish and share timely, relevant stories that build meaningful connections and drive engagement among followers

  • Own the social media editorial calendar and workflow for all reviews and approvals

  • Serve as the final checkpoint to ensure all social posts are aligned to our brand guidelines and voice

Advocacy and Care (25%)

  • Develop a handbook and process for social media advocacy among GAF employees to extend reach and engagement among target audiences

  • Oversee the social care process to respond to inquiries in a timely manner and deliver an optimal service experience

Reporting and Insights (25%)

  • Leverage our technology platform (Sprinklr) to capture and analyze the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices that can inform future action

  • Develop and deliver monthly reporting on social media performance / KPIs

Level Based Competencies:

Social Media Management:

  • Content writing (proactive and reactive) for social media, with an eye for storytelling and driving engagement

  • Editorial calendar management

  • Community and customer care management

  • Influencer engagement

  • Strategic understanding of social channel strategy, specifically for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter

  • Familiarity with social listening

  • Measurement and reporting

Soft Skills:

  • Solid communicator across multiple stakeholders

  • Ability to work with a diverse team across practices, objectives, and experiences

  • Agile and responsive across digital channels

  • Moves with intention around work; organized and deadline-driven

  • Willing to challenge the status quo, never checking the box simply for the sake of it

Technical Knowledge/Skills:

Enterprise tools experience:

  • Sprinklr (preferred), Hootsuite, Sprout Social or other social media management software

  • On platform experience with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn

  • Google Suite (Email, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides)

  • Slack or other communication tools like Skype, Google Messenger, or Microsoft Teams

Brand and agency experience:

  • A mix of B2C and B2B experiences preferred

  • Working with brands that appeal to multiple audiences with different demo-, firmo- and psychographics

  • Working with an agency as an extension of the team, on either the agency or client side

  • Partnering with cause marketing teams and/or non-profit partners to share community stories/impact, a plus

Required Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree

  • Three or more years of related experience
